Health Sector in Indonesia

As the technology development becomes more affordable and something that is easy to obtain, the need to access more inclusive health facilities is also increasing. For example, people now mostly use their cell phones or fitness devices to collect their personal health. Moreover, patients are also able to order medicines online or online medical consultation, so that patients don’t need to go anywhere.

In this industrial revolution 4.0 era, the health system will also be increasingly sophisticated with the development of new technologies. Such as, Artificial Intelligence (AI) that is used to diagnose the patients with certain diseases. Secondly, the wearable devices for processing the data of sleep patterns, measuring blood sugars, fat, heart rate, and others. The third one, is the utilization of Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) to change the way patients are treated. For example, patients with dementia or Alzheimer will be helped by visualization of their memories or events in the past.

In order to make access easier for public health services, the Ministry of Health created an application called Sehatpedia. This application is free to access and the public can easily get their health information. It can be accessed by all Indonesian people and will be responded to by doctors from more than 32 vertical hospitals of the Ministry of Health.
